Jumping in early for International Women’s Day and to say thanks to an absolute champion.
‘International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
The day has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Prior to this the Socialist Party of America, United Kingdom's Suffragists and Suffragettes, and further groups campaigned for women's equality. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.’ - an extract - and unfortunately, I can’t (re)find the author but this was the best explanation of the day for me. Apologies for not being able to recognise the original author.
The little town of Tea Gardens….One thing I love about our little town is how many women we have running their own businesses. From Real estate agents to massage therapists to boutique owners to cafe operators to web designers. It should be celebrated!! And then let’s not forget our volunteers! The ladies of the Red Cross, Lions Club, Meals on Wheels and more.
So here’s to all you amazing women . A big cheers to you. Be proud of your achievements and everything you do.
Women! We do…..stuff. We do it for each other. We have backs. We support.
A personal thank you….I would like to send a big shout out to one very generous lady. Deb Carr! After my never ending battle with a web designer she stepped up to help me. Out of the kindness of her own heart she did a total redo of my site! I honestly cannot thank her enough. She talks to me in a language I don’t understand (I T idiot over here) but we still manage to get the right result. Luckily for me she understands my language (usually consisting of a ridiculous amount of hand movements). Thanks Deb. You are a champion.
Here’s to every woman. To the besties you just can’t do life with out. To your sisters, mothers, grandmothers, daughters, nieces aunties and granddaughters. May we continue to support each other. Pick each other up when we’re down. Listen to each other…really listen. Lend a hand when needed. Do a favour. But above all else ….Be kind to each other. Everyday.
Big Love - Max
